Dear Diary,
When I don't understand a concept or there is too much information to absorb....I look for images....this image helped me understand and affirm my belief that to be a leader means to serve....
I grew up with a mother who is a devout catholic...who was also a teacher for 50 years in a catholic school....I was educated mostly in a catholic school....my up bringing has somehow influenced my idea of what a leader should be....as the nuns say...Jesus is the best leader because he is a leader who serves....
How does this relate to me as a teacher librarian....In the picture shown...I am the person helping someone reach the top of the mountain.....I do not scream out and give orders but I extend my hand to help....I do not sit and watch while my students struggle and fail but I try my best to help them overcome the challenges they are faced with....I do not sit around and wait for teachers to come to me .....but instead I come to them with ideas and resources to assist them with their task of supporting student learning....I am a part of the school community....if it fails then I fail too..
